Most specialty coffee today is built around black coffee tasting.Light roasts. Citrus acidity. Floral notes. Delicate finishes. And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that.
But that’s not how most people actually drink coffee.
NEITHER WE
What happens to specialty coffee when milk enters the equation?
Because for millions of people including us coffee isn’t just espresso. It’s flat whites. Cappuccinos. Lattes. Real everyday coffee.
And that’s where we felt something was missing.
Most South American coffees taste beautiful on their own. Chocolate. Hazelnut. Caramel sweetness. Clean acidity. Balanced structure. They create the foundation of our blend because they bring familiarity and comfort to the cup.
But once milk gets involved, many of those flavour notes soften too much. The body becomes lighter. The espresso loses some of its presence.
We wanted something that could also cut through the milk that too without becoming bitter, burnt, or overly dark.
Something heavier.
Something richer.
Something with structure.
So we started experimenting.
Dozens of origins. Endless testing. Mostly South American profiles at first because that was the flavour direction we naturally loved. But eventually we realised the blend was still missing weight. Then we got our hands on premium Indian-origin plantation A coffee.
That changed everything.
The body.
The depth.
The subtle spice.
The way the flavour held its structure through milk.
It instantly felt different from anything else we had tested in the UK market.
Not overpowering.
Not smoky.
Not harsh.
Just fuller. Richer. More complete.
That became the missing piece of the Brewsmiths blend.
Today, our coffee is built around a carefully balanced combination of South American and Indian-origin beans designed specifically for milk-based specialty coffee while still maintaining specialty-grade quality standards, with coffees consistently scoring above 85.
The result is a coffee that feels smooth, chocolate-driven, comforting, and heavy-bodied without losing clarity or balance.
Not coffee designed for cupping tables.
Coffee designed for drinking.
